What Mortgage Costs Are Tax Deductible

Generally, you can deduct the entirety of your mortgage interest payment by entering your deductions on Schedule A (Form 1040). However, your deduction may be limited. However, there is a tax advantage for these costs. You can add these closing costs to your home`s cost base when you sell it. This reduces the amount of profit you make. This can help reduce the capital gains tax you may have to pay on your home. John and his brother George received an MCC.
